Housing

Transitional Housing

Housing is not our primary purpose, although we do provide transitional homes for a select number of guests seeking a hand-up rather than a handout. For this purpose, Matthew’s Hope rents or owns 12 homes able to shelter 30-36 people, and will provide temporary housing to those men or women willing to abide by our strict guidelines. The homes are handsomely decorated and well-maintained. All tenants sign a contract and must follow it diligently.

Weekly inspections are made for cleanliness, and there are surprise drug tests for all those living in the housing. There is a curfew for lights out and onsite supervision by a Matthew’s Hope staff member. We have required weekly life skill classes and a weekly Bible study at the offices of Matthew’s Hope. All tenants must have a paying job (which we sometimes help to procure). We help them save so they can eventually get out on their own with enough for a down payment on an apartment. The housing also provides the support of community from other men, women and children trying to move forward.
