We succeed at what we do because the community helps us do it.
That means you.
Perhaps you would like to donate food or clothing.
We also have options for individuals who want to volunteer or groups giving time together at Matthew’s Hope. We have ideas you can do without coming to our site and ways you can spend a few hours with us.
Volunteering begins with completing an application and a $10.00 fee for a mandatory background check, unless you are coming for one time or just working in our garden.
Every year, Matthew’s Hope logs 50,000 volunteer hours. From our beginning in 2010, we have been able to provide services to so many because of our volunteers.
Our primary volunteer day is Tuesday, where men, women and children can help girls scouts
sort and catalogue donations
launder the clothes of homeless guests
cook and serve lunch
serve as an advocate to help set goals with homeless guests
stock and distribute food in the “Garden of Eatin’ Pantry”
distribute donated items to those in need
talk and pray with guests
teach a class on fighting addictions or job training
get government assistance for homeless guests
wash and detail vehicles
Other days of the week, volunteers can:
weed, plant and harvest fruits and vegetables in our onsite Garden of Hope
teach Bible study (Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening)
write grant requests
research and write articles for our website and magazine
Maybe you have an idea we have not thought of!
Contact us by email at Barry@matthewshopeministries.org or by telephone at 407.905.9500, extension 606.
You may also submit your application to volunteer here.
We look forward to working together. Help us help them to help themselves.
