Is Matthew’s Hope a Shelter?

Is Matthew’s Hope a Shelter?

No, housing is not our primary purpose.

Rather, we seek to meet basic needs, develop skills and restore dignity and independence to our guests.
Matthew’s Hope offers services like:

  • showers

  • clothingmobilemedicalsmall

  • food

  • hygiene products

  • medical treatment

  • camping supplies

We offer job training, classes for life skills and spiritual mentorship.

We assist people who need and qualify for government aid.

We help those guests who really want to change by helping them set goals and move forward.

In some cases, our guests are ready for the responsibility of moving into a home. In those cases, we do provide transitional homes for a select number of guests seeking a hand up rather than a handout. (What is the difference between a hand up and a handout?)

We own 6 homes and rent 6 homes (including apartments and a house); we provide temporary housing to men or women willing to abide by our strict guidelines.
